System Trends – Changes in O/S & 32/64 bit transitions in a secure world:
In a world of ever-changing systems and new technology releases comes the potential for new vulnerabilities. How do you protect your organization from these new threats? Discussion will include: How organizations can create disaster tolerant clusters; Where partitioned and dynamic load (WLM) is going; Attaching to SANs for continuous access to data.
Presenter: Well known industry speaker John Loether, will share his extensive knowledge with the group. Are your organization’s latest systems/hosts as well protected as you think they are?
Archiving/ILM Security:
If you think “data-archiving” means out-of-sight, out-of-mind, think again! Sarbanes, HIIPA, SEC 17a-4, GLBA, litigation support, etc. are forcing executives to think twice about discounting the value of their organization’s archived data. In many cases, executives are now being held personally accountable for their organization’s data security. Information needs to be secured at every point in its lifecycle, from creation through to archive and disposal. Learn what kinds of protection can be used to make sure your stored information never becomes a liability.
Presenter: Rob Sadowski, Sr. Manager on EMC’s Information Security Leadership Team, will talk about data exposure and how organizations can enjoy the benefits of ILM, while maintaining maximum security protection.
Internal Organization Security:
Your organization has firewall and virus protection installed. Everyone does, right? As a responsible executive, you have done your best to keep bad things from getting inside your organization. But, what about the huge percentage of problems that spawn from malicious or accidental behavior within an organization’s own walls. Learn what you can do to protect your organization from itself.
Presenter: Susan Don, Cisco’s Business Development Manager of Security Solutions, will empower attendees with valuable knowledge as it pertains to internal infrastructure vulnerabilities and what can be done to mitigate these serious threats.
DR/Business Continuance:
Your organization’s formal DR/BC plan is sitting right there on the shelf so you are all set, right? When was the last time you ran a “real” test, not a well-prepared-for test against it? If a major geographical disruption occurred, would your DR-for-rent organization have the resources available to handle the massive demand of everyone’s expectations? Where is your organization on their priority list? And, how do you plan to convince your own assigned DR team to leave their families in a geographic crisis and head to remote DR sites? Can they even get out of town if they need to?
